Game-Night Guide
A practical session flow for using Catanzee during real play.
Catanzee works best when the table treats it as the shared memory for dice, hands, and history while the social negotiation stays in person. This guide describes the smoothest way to use it with a group.
Before the first roll
- Open the host screen on a laptop or tablet visible to the whole table.
- Enter the player list in turn order.
- Decide whether the group wants digital hands or physical cards for this session.
Seat registration
- Let each player scan their QR code in order.
- If someone does not want to use a phone, skip registration from the More menu.
- Connected seats remain visible so the host can confirm everyone is ready.
Rolling and turns
- The host uses the large roll button or the space bar.
- The wheel advances automatically to the next player.
- The live chart updates so the table can see which numbers are hitting most often.
Handling resources
- Players stage all pickups before committing them.
- Players stage all bank returns or purchase costs before committing them.
- The card fan gives each player a compact, private summary of what they actually hold.
Trades and purchases
- Players negotiate verbally at the table.
- The actual transfer or purchase is then recorded in the player hand view.
- This keeps the social part human while preserving consistent digital state.
After the game
- Archive the finished session.
- Review the per-game roll breakdown and all-time stats.
- Start the next table with a clean current game while keeping the history immutable.
